A GOSPEL CHRISTMAS – part 3

THE BIRMINGHAM MASSIVE HAVE ARRIVED, I am so excited, they all walk into the main hall smiling from ear to ear, and it’s all about the hugs, Jahmene Douglas has arrived, so has Paul Lee, and then Lurine Cato, and the my crew the Idmc massive all arrive, man the room is a buzz, as everyone greets, you can feel the love in the room.

We sound check one after the other, and everyone comes off stage with a smile on their faces. The stage shuts down as we prepare to open the doors. The drinks reception is full with artists and V.I.P’s as the audience fills the ground floor and then moves upstairs.. The numbers are a bit below what we expected, but down stairs is packed and upstairs has a good vibe.. The atmosphere is set; I’m doing my Mac daddy thing and looking Hot… The lights go down and I lead out to warm up the crowd, teaching them a few of the songs before we go Live.. There is a great buzz in the air, and a spirit of expectancy …

It’s 7:15pm…IT’S SHOW TIME

Bishop Parkinson from NTCG Brixton opens the night with prayer and then IDMC  hits the stage and starts out with their praise and worship opener “in your presence”, then after the first reading the audience jumps into life with a vibrant Caribbean version of “Hark the Herald” leading into “God is Good”. The audience are in fantastic voice, because the sound coming from the room is off the hook. And so the evening continues.

Lurine Cato tales the stage, and the Devil is in Trouble, because the band have struck up the intro to “You Revive me” and guys she didn’t take no prisoners. The audience are on their feet and are rocking and lifting the temperature to over 100degrees. OFF THE CHAIN…

How do you follow that..”Birmingham Town Hall gospel choir” Winners of the first ever Songs of Praise Gospel choir of the year competition, and guys they certainly didn’t disappoint. They were so on point with their vibe, accurate harmonies and spirit of praise and worship…

The first half was brought to a close with the audience joining John and IDMC as they went through the funkiest version of Ding Dong Merrily on High,.. The audience won’t stop singing…lol The first half was so intense how were we going to up the temperature…
